I would describe myself first and foremost as non-linear: not your typical business guy. I love, passionately. My family, my art and this big, beautiful world and everything that comes with it provide me with enough joy to live a thousand lifetimes. As a photographer, I have been practicing over 15 years; since the film days. Weddings are tremendous fun and I think that's what draws me to them. I believe that people ultimately get me up every day and that's a pretty good reason.
When I'm not taking photos of beautiful couples just like you, I'm either spending time with my family, traveling, and more often than not, both. My partner in crime, Alicia, and I have travelled together to well over 30 countries on five continents. More recently, we've encountered stowaways! Two beautiful boys, Nolan and Liam. Three and one respectively. They've turned our lives upside down in the most beautiful way.
I really know my way around an image with a Master's degree in Photography Theory and well over 100 weddings under my belt in the past five years alone. I also really love what I do. Don't be surprised when your phone rings instead of a generic email when you inquire. I really take who you are seriously and that means quality over quantity. I don't think life (or you) should be treated any less.
While many have called our type of shooting photojournalistic photography, White Frames Photography is among the first photography companies to adopt the term ‘organic photography’. Like photojournalistic photography, organic photography uses natural light wherever possible to create a natural feel to the photograph. We also limit the amount of posing or ‘narrative creating’ atmosphere. We know that as a family, you already have established dynamics. Why not be receptive, observant photographers and document that interaction rather than create an un-natural, rigid pose?
Warmth and an inclination towards creating beautiful photography is what separate us from photojournalistic photography. White Frames Photography creates an end product that is more illustrative than photojournalistic photography. In essence, we are not confined by the rawness of photojournalistic photography, so we can create a mood to our photography that is both organic and illustrative in mood. Organic photography seeks to portray a warmth that photojournalistic photography could never achieve.
