Surprise Engagement session at The Water's Edge in Kemah

I love surprise engagements. There's a level of energy present during an actual engagement that is nothing short of magic. And while Chintan and Prapti's engagement was also nothing short of magical, they had something that most don't have: family. You see, throughout the week Chintan had been mentioning that their plan that Saturday was to attend a wedding at the picturesque Water's Edge in Kemah. Dressed to impress, the two arrived to what seemed to be early and to an empty venue. Unbeknownst to Prapti, both of their families had been preparing for several hours to get every detail just right for their magical moment. From a rose-pedal lined walkway to the beautiful floral and sign arrangement that waited for them at the end of the walkway, the families had thought of everything. Not even the champagne. There was even a heart pattern of flower petals at the end, windproof, of course. So when Prapti looked at the easels of the happy couple to be wed that day, she instead saw herself staring back, in a familiar photo of a recent trip the couple took to Canada. From there, everything came clear and advanced in slow motion. They followed the path, admiring the petals and stopped at the water's edge. For what seemed like forever, the two took in the gentle lapping of the waves against the concrete, just enjoying these last moments before becoming more than just a boyfriend and a girlfriend. Then, choreographed almost like a dance, the two joined hands and Chintan got down on a knee and said a few words before sliding the shiny new ring on her finger. With that, the hall erupted in cheers and family ran from all sided of the venue to meet them. Huge hugs and congratulations continued for several minutes before the couple broke away for a few private images, both beaming with the future in their eyes.
